We're Expanding Our Board!

Phin is seeking compassionate and community-minded individuals with a passion for the arts to join our Board of Directors!

We are seeking to fill the positions of Treasurer and Member-at-Large. Our immediate focus is on recruiting an individual with financial expertise, to assist in transitioning from a non-profit to a registered charity, and in fulfilling the fiduciary responsibilities associated with the new operating model. Financial experience, such as CPA designation or equivalent experience as a financial professional, and experience in charity governance will be an asset in the Treasurer position.

We are also looking to expand our board, seeking applications from individuals of a variety of backgrounds, lived experience, and expertise as Member-at-Large. The Board of Directors meets four to five times per year, and operates in an advisory capacity. Overall time commitment will depend on individual availability and areas of expertise, but generally will fall in the range of 1-3h per month.

Board members help guide the organization's governance, financial management, and strategic direction, as well as provide assistance with fundraising, deepening our relevance within the community and broadening our support base.

These are volunteer positions with a 2-year term, and the opportunity for renewal. If you are interested in joining our mission to serve our community and bring dance and artistic activity to the public through performances, workshops, and outreach activities including our flagship Dance to Move program for people with Parkinson's, please reach out! We'd love to hear from you.

Please email your interest to lisa@phin.ca or call 902-292-9366.

Phin Performing Arts operates on the ancestral lands of Mi’kma’ki, in Kjipuktuk/Halifax. We are grateful to share these lands with the Mi’kmaw people.  We respect these lands and their original inhabitants, including the animals and people who have walked here before us, and aim to tread lightly on the earth out of respect for its future inhabitants.
